FAQ

Do I need a crypto wallet to play?

No. Tidebound is free to play and everything that matters is open to free players. Linking an XRP Ledger account adds the Ledger Pass: slight boosts and on-ledger extras.

Do I have to pay anything?

No. The Ledger Pass only needs an XRP Ledger account holding the base reserve, which stays yours. Linking costs a tiny network fee and sets aside a small reserve in your own account. Being a Supporter is optional and purely cosmetic.

Can I buy TIDE, crates or items?

No. The game never sells TIDE, and sealed crates are earned only: never sold for money, XRP or TIDE. There is no in-game player market.

Can I trade with other players?

Not inside the game. Relics you mint as NFTs, and TIDE in your wallet, are yours to keep or trade with your own wallet, but the game doesn't facilitate trading.

Why did my action stop?

It ran out of materials, or the bank had no slot for a new common item. Expand the bank with gold, or sell what you don't need (bank). Rare and better items always fit.

How much happens while I'm away?

Up to 8 hours, or 24 hours with the Ledger Pass (offline progress).

How are drop odds shown?

As a percentage from 1% up, and as "1 in N" below that, the same as in the game. Rare-find bonuses multiply the odds. See loot tables.

Is this wiki up to date?

The skill, item, combat and reference pages are generated from the game's own engine every time the wiki is built, so they match the game version it was built from. The guides are written by hand.

How can I fix or add something?

The wiki lives in the game's repository (apps/wiki): guides are Markdown files in apps/wiki/guide, and the data pages come from apps/wiki/scripts/generate.ts. Changes go through the repository. An "Edit this page" link can be switched on for guides (WIKI_EDIT_URL).

Game data pages are generated from the game’s own engine. Tidebound is in a testnet playtest; numbers may change.
